Jade Valley B & B, Lillooet, BC, Canada
Lillooet is located in one of the most geographically and geologically dramatic and rich regions on earth. One translation of the name Lillooet is "Where many rivers meet". It is situated on the Fraser River at a mere 700 feet above sea level, with an opening to the West that maintains this low elevation, making the Seton-Anderson lakes cut likely the lowest elevation cut through the Coast Range in North America. This helps make Lillooet not only Canada's 'hotspot', but also creates its amazing bio-diversity (List of Birds and Animals of Lillooet).
While Lillooet can be called 'rugged', it also has some of the most benign, agriculture-friendly, softly-contoured bench lands with the highest heat calories being served with plenty of Alpine water, ideal for grapes, fruit trees and most other high-end crops. The glacier that carved Seton-Anderson lakes butted up against the mountain opposite Lillooet, scraped it clean and created the utterly unique jagged drama there. Lillooet is not just a place to visit; it is a place to explore.
Lillooet is located close to Whistler, but enjoys small town charms and prices.
